| Now to
add a highlight to the ball, this is pretty
easy as you have done most of this already.
Create a new circle and select the default
black and white gradient from the swatches
palate to fill the new circle. Now drag the
circle to create another oval shape, and place
the oval gradient on top of the black circle
should look similar to the image below |
 |
Now we
need to rotate the oval, do this by clicking
on the rotate icon in the main tools panel
and click and drag to turn the oval to the
angle you want. The one below I have added
two highlights using the same technique (scaling
the bottom one). |
 |
Now to
add the white spot and the eight, create a
new circle (holding the shift key) and colour
it white or very light grey, then using the
text tool from the main tools menu
click anywhere on the canvas and type in the
number eight (I used the Arial font set to
bold) now scale the font so it will fit just
inside the white circle. The next thing to
do is to turn the number 8 to outlines. To
do this select the number eight with the selection
tool
and click on the eight, then press (ctrl +
Shift + o) on the keyboard. |
 |
The reason for
turning the text to outlines is so we
can align it perfectly, click and drag
the selection tool over both the number
8 and the white circle so both are highlighted
as shown on the left. |
|
 |
Next in the Align
menu (Shift +F7) click on the two highlighted
objects, this will align the eight and
the circle vertically and horizontally,
then group the objects together (Ctrl
+ G) this makes it easier to move them
about. |
