Saving Illustrator brushes - 2

Now create any shape or line, select it (so its highlighted) and click on the new illustrator brush we have just created, this will apply the brush to the selection as seen below.

Then in the brushes menu, click on 'select all unused' and then click on the dustbin icon at the bottom of the menu, this will delete them, leaving only the brush we want to save. Its also important to make sure all brush types are ticked (show below) if they are not ticked then when you save your brush the unticked brushes will be saved as well.

Finally select the shape you applied the illustrator brush to and delete it, so you should have an empty document now, then go to 'file' and 'save as' and name the brush set, you also need to save the file as an .ai or .eps not as a pdf as it can't be opened.

Its worth calling the file name_brush.ai then you know its a brush file for the future.
